Sarah Greenberg, the designer behind Sarah Swell Jewelry, creates hand-hewn treasures in precious metals that exemplify casual luxury. All of her pieces are meticulously crafted using ancient techniques.
Hailing from coastal New England, Sarah’s childhood was steeped in history, nature, and salt from the sea. An artist from a young age, she was always collecting, imagining and creating. While attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Sarah took a metalsmithing class on a whim. It was love at first flame. From that point on, she immersed herself in the jewelry industry, earning her degree at the Revere Academy Of Jewelry Arts and dreaming of one day creating her own line. That day came in 2008 with the launch of Sarah Swell jewelry.
Sarah is intrigued by the idea that jewelry has been worn since the beginning of history. It often signifies something special or important. It usually provides distinction and sense of self. It is great design that makes jewelry irresistible, and the handcrafted aspect that breathes life and character into a piece. These are all things that Sarah incorporates into her jewelry—creating distinctive treasures that are both timeless and timely. Often taking cues from the nature, her work has a raw, organic elegance that appeals to the jewelry lover in all of us.
Whether traveling, enjoying nature, exploring her city or collecting interesting relics, Sarah finds beauty and inspiration in the raw, unrefined and imperfect. She lives and works in Oakland, California and shares her life with her sweetheart and a posse of animals.
